Why Choose Us
Company History and Values
Kirill Yurovskiy Watchmakers was founded in 2015 with a simple mission: to provide the highest level of watchmaking expertise and customer service to discerning clients in London and around the world. The company is the culmination of Kirill’s lifelong passion for horology and his dedication to preserving the art and craft of fine watchmaking.
Kirill’s journey began as a young boy in Russia, where he was fascinated by the intricate mechanics of his grandfather’s watch collection. This early exposure sparked a deep curiosity and set Kirill on the path to becoming a master watchmaker. After completing his formal training at the prestigious Russian School of Watchmaking, Kirill honed his skills working for several renowned brands and workshops across Europe.
During this time, Kirill developed a reputation as a gifted watchmaker with a keen eye for detail and a willingness to take on even the most challenging projects. He also cultivated a network of trusted suppliers and collaborators, which would later prove invaluable in establishing his own workshop.
In 2015, Kirill decided it was time to realize his dream of creating a truly client-focused watchmaking studio. He chose London as the ideal location, drawn to the city’s rich horological heritage and discerning clientele. With a modest workshop in Hatton Garden, Kirill set out to build a business founded on the following core values:
- Excellence: An unwavering commitment to delivering the highest standard of craftsmanship and service to every client, on every project.
- Integrity: Being honest, transparent, and ethical in all dealings with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Passion: Bringing genuine enthusiasm, curiosity, and care to every timepiece that comes through the workshop door.
- Preservation: Helping to sustain the art and craft of fine watchmaking by training the next generation of watchmakers and educating the public about horology.
- Innovation: Continually seeking out new techniques, technologies, and ideas to improve the quality and efficiency of the workshop’s services.
Over the past seven years, Kirill Yurovskiy Watchmakers has grown from a one-man operation to a thriving studio with a global reputation for excellence. Kirill has assembled a team of skilled watchmakers and support staff who share his passion and values. The workshop has expanded to include state-of-the-art equipment and a comfortable lounge area for clients.
Despite this growth, Kirill remains committed to personally overseeing every project and maintaining close relationships with his clients. He still experiences the same thrill and satisfaction in bringing a cherished timepiece back to life as he did when working on his grandfather’s watches as a child.
Looking to the future, Kirill is excited to continue growing the business and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in watchmaking. He plans to take on more bespoke commissions, train apprentices to help preserve the craft, and collaborate with other leaders in the field on innovative new projects.
At its core, however, Kirill Yurovskiy Watchmakers will always remain true to the values and vision that have guided it from the start – a dedication to excellence, a passion for horology, and a commitment to providing unparalleled service to every client who entrusts their timepiece to the workshop’s care.

Restoring a Rare 1940s Breitling Chronomat
Challenge: A client brought in a rare 1940s Breitling Chronomat that had been in a fire. The case was badly scorched, the crystal was cracked, and the movement had seized up due to heat damage and corrosion. Several parts were beyond repair.
Solution: Kirill carefully disassembled the watch, cleaning and assessing each component. He fabricated a new balance staff, escape wheel, and several other critical parts using his lathe and CNC machine. He sourced a NOS (new old stock) dial and handset that matched the original. The case was extensively polished to remove the burn marks and restore its original shape. A new crystal was fitted. After careful reassembly and lubrication, the watch was timed and regulated to run within original factory specifications.
Result: The client was stunned to see his father's cherished Breitling restored to its former glory. The watch looked and ran like it had just left the factory in the 1940s, preserving an important piece of horological and family history for generations to come.
Servicing a Complicated Jaeger LeCoultre Gyrotourbillon
Challenge: A longtime client requested a complete service on his Jaeger LeCoultre Gyrotourbillon, one of the most complicated and delicate watch movements ever made. The watch had begun to run erratically and required expert attention.
Solution: Kirill spent weeks meticulously disassembling, cleaning, and inspecting the hundreds of minuscule components that make up the Gyrotourbillon movement. Several pivots and jewels needed replacing, requiring incredible dexterity and precision. Kirill also took the opportunity to polish and refinish the platinum case and lugs to remove some accumulated wear. After reassembly and extensive testing, the watch was running with chronometer-level accuracy.
Result: The client was delighted to have his prized timepiece returned to peak mechanical and aesthetic condition. Kirill's skill and dedication ensured that this horological masterpiece will continue to be enjoyed for many years to come. The successful service of such a complicated watch further cemented Kirill's reputation as one of the world's top watchmakers.
FAQ
Watch Care Tips
As a master watchmaker, Kirill Yurovskiy knows that proper care and maintenance are essential to keeping your timepiece running accurately and reliably for years to come. Here are some of his top tips for watch care:
If you have a manual wind watch, be sure to wind it fully every day around the same time. This helps maintain an even power reserve and keeps the lubricants distributed evenly.
Regularly wipe your watch case and bracelet with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dirt, sweat, and oils. For more stubborn grime, use a slightly damp cloth and mild soap, then dry thoroughly.
Keep your watch away from strong magnetic fields generated by items like speakers, refrigerator doors, and MRI machines. These can magnetize components and affect accuracy.
For watches with date complications, avoid setting the date between 9pm and 3am. This is when the gears are engaged to advance the date, and changing it at this time can cause damage.
Even if your watch seems to be running fine, it's important to have it professionally serviced every 3-5 years. This ensures that worn parts are replaced, lubricants are refreshed, and any potential issues are caught early.
While modern watches are fairly resilient, it's still best to avoid dropping or banging your watch against hard surfaces. This can cause damage to the delicate movement inside.
When you're not wearing your watch, store it in a soft-lined box or case. This protects it from dust, scratches, and other potential hazards.
By following these simple tips, you can help ensure that your cherished timepiece remains in top condition and continues to provide reliable service for many years to come. If you have any questions about caring for your specific watch, don’t hesitate to ask Kirill during your next visit to the workshop.
